Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I absolutely adore the one I have now. I couldn't be happier. We're teammates rather than her being the director.
What makes a good pdoc? They work with you on your recovery as a team, they talk with you not at you, and they listen.
I knew my tdoc and I clicked because she didn't do any "fluffy kitty" therapy. She was firm with me, but loving. Plus she believed in what I believed in and our personal backgrounds were similar. She's the bees knees.
Congrats!
My T I see once a month for 2 years now....he's good and has very bushy eyebrows,I probably stare at them.
Well, years and years later, I was finally diagnosed BP and the psychiatrist pretty much required me to go to therapy (it was a joint operation). All the therapist wanted to talk about was herself and HER experiences! Sheesh!
A couple of weird therapists later, and I'm finally with one I really like. She's so smart and always has such common-sense advice. She's also available in emergencies in relatively good time. It's literally taken me years to find her.
