I have a friend who has all the symptoms of bipolar.
One day she's really happy, the next, she suicidal and wants to kill herself. I've sat with her to 1am in the morning many nights, just to stop her from doing anything.
However, someone recently told me that she cannot possibly be bipolar as her highs and lows are not 'extreme'.
Is that any chance that she may be bipolar? Or is it just the depression doing that to her?

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Best thing for her would be to see a pdoc.
1 a.m isn't too late either,So , it's good to be concerned but see a professional.
Also, I don't know what your friend thinks extreme is, but I'm pretty sure that the friend who's suicidal IS EXTREME.
Kaliber and I share a GP that has more skills than some of the pdocs I've dealt with, many are qualified to get the ball rolling before the handoff to a specialist. I stopped seeing a renowned specialist when he retired, (Messina in Rochester) and my GP has steered the boat perhaps better.
Kaliber's dad is speaking up at a local college, GOOD FOR HIM!!!
