I don't often post stuff about health here - mostly just stupid things to try and put smiles on people's faces but I really need opinion on what has happened to me 3 times in the last 5 months now.
I suddenly feel reall suicidal then I get a huge headache - which spreads across my face and feels very painful, I then have racing thoughts and can visualise something on the back of my brain which feels like its controlling me and taking over. sometimes this visual is so big it can consume me - almost like a hallucinationn but not exactly. Then I start crying, then screaming and holding my head - something feels really wrong...I feel like someone else has taken over and they are crushing my brain...the pain is incredible...I wanted to go to hospital but all I could do was curl up on my bed and cry..I took painkillers then went to sleep - for about 20 mintues. then woke up and felt TOTALLY normal. All this in the space of 3 hours. Very very very strange.
has anyone had similar? I've had panic attacks before but this feels different -extremely intense and OUT OF CONTROL.
any advice welcome
x
thanks

What meds are you taking if any? Lithium gives me excruciating headaches, and the sense that I am not in control, but on the whole it works.

yes, it's similar to very severe anxiety attack... it happens to me and it took a very long time for me to figure out that it is my body doing it. You are not alone and never think you are. I wish i had better advice on how to deal with it, but i am still learning.

Have you ever been evaluated by a neurologist just to cover any medical aspects of your experience?

deleted_user
All I can say is that when I had a brain tumor, I had noooo headaches so you can check that off your list. But I would still seek medical advice. good luck.

yeah you should get checked out medically and be honest with your pdoc.

thank you for your comments. i will be talking to my pdoc about it on tuesday - its good to know I'm not the only one - i do hope in a way it is just extreme anxiety...it is very strange though how it seems to take over then disappear..I'm currently only taking venlafaxine which ive been taking for nearly 6 years

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
