I'm new. I've been posting at iVillage but there aren't a lot of people there. It looks like there are more people here and its a much more active group. I've been really chatty lately. I did have a med change recently and I'm worried if mania is creeping up on me. Anyhow, I've been dx'd about four years. I had a head injury just before dx. I don't know if the injury caused it or just made it worse. Personally, I'm leaning towards "made it worse." I currently take Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Lamictal, Abilify, Ambien, and Xanax. I also just purchased what appears to be a college textbook on bipolar disorder by Kay Redfield Jamison and Frederick K. Goodwin. So far it seems like an overview of lots of different studies (only about 75% of which I understand). Also, I have substance abuse issues (alcohol) to go along with my BP. It seems like I have to either drink or take xanax lately which leads me to believe I'm manic but I don't feel all that bad. *sighs* I look forward to discussions here. I'm thinking I'll do some journal posting as well.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
