Yesterday I watched an amputee fitted with prosthetics, a 79 yr. old woman, and a 65 yr. blind man compete and FINISH the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii.
This is a 2 mile swim, 110 mile bike ride, and 26 mile run. The times vary from 8 hr. to 16 hr.
I feel that bipolar people need a mentor that would inspire us as well as help the general public better understand bipolar disease.
Any Serious Suggestions?

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Just e-mail me the list of the local heroes... and that should satisfy me.
I haven't jogged since a towtruck driver drove away with my car!
But my experience with living with someone who trained for the Iron Man Triathelon was horrible.
The athletes become obsevive about their training schedual, training, what they eat, some wil give up sex,and I'm not talking about just a few odd balls in the Triathelon crowd...I'm talking hundruds of men and women ...put this race before family friends and their jobs.
The Iron Man ,and being on the sidelines ,watching my husband compete there, was NEVER an inspiring event for me...all I saw.... as each racer coming over the finish line ...was someone who spent 15-18 hours a day training for this event...to the exclusion of all else in their lives.
Oh ,we look at them ,and think HOW DEDICATED
