It seems to me from reading these posts and from listening to other "bipolar" folks in my life, that all of us have serious problems trying to take these meds!
More problems with psych. meds than folks usually have with other kinds of meds. More consistent problems.
Are we ever going to get anywhere with research
and develop better medicines. Medicine that are more effective and not so toxic.
Frustrated!!
PS Oh, I prefer calling this "manic-depressive," for some reason "bipolar" reminds me of polar bears and penguins.
Have a good day, hear me!
Take care,
Eve

Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
bipolar just sounds politically correct. i just use the term bipolar because it's the "lingo" these days.
sorry I didn't answer your question at all.
What *I* hate about meds is that everybody thinks POW! You take lithium and you get better! Not so! Apparently! I had to see a neurologist for a while and he told me that there would be a day when the stigma would be lifted off BP because it would be "rightfully placed" amongst the neurological disorders. Stilllll waiiiiitingggggg...
And I HATE when people comapare it to DIABETES.
Bipolar is the new name, people associate that with something else. They associate that with insane asylums.
The big question is do you want asylum A or B?
I like how some profiles say "I have Bipolar Disorder and Manic Depression." LOL
My old pdoc actually said this to me the last time I met with him: "So, you called, it must be time to try something else. Let's have a look at what meds are left on the list here."
Yea, what happened to maybe asking what the problem is first??? Just a thought...
More women then men get Dx'ed with More severe Mental Illnesses then men. At least give us kinder names!!!!!!
