Do you see yourself as a person with different attributes who happens to have bipolar...Or do view yourself mainly terms of your bp? I pretty much usually do the former, though when doing it tough with the bp...it pretty much seems to consume evrything else...What are your thoughts??...(was looking at family/friends of bp site which prompted this thought....whether u or those around u separate out the illness from the person)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
So We're Both Together Now, I think.
Did that make any sense?
So I guess that mean I am defining myself mainly in terms of BP.
Or just a spunky kid?
So Am I bipolar ,or is bipolar me?
Do I separate the illness from my self?
NO.
I am bipolar, shaman of my GrGr mothers people.Blessed and cursed with a vision of the world, that is out side of the "norm".
This has taken me to the heights of Heavan it's self...and to the pits of hell.
I am a whole and complete(if slightly skewed)person...as a bipolar.
It was looking like I was supposed to get my Phd and have a successful career in Education research. Then this happened, and I actually believed I'd be homeless, during the truly rough years.
It's just hard for me to reconcile the 'normal' me, who still exists, and the BP me, at times. At other times, esp. around people who are tolerant of my illness, I feel much more integrated and almost proud of my BP experiences.
I guess most of the time, I view myself as a person who happens to be bipolar. Most of the time.... lol.
