How can you tell the difference between "normal" happiness and mania and/or hypomania? That one is really getting me. It has recently come to my attention that not everyone gets "hyper" now and then... Doesnt everyone have cycles of ups and downs isnt that just life?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
is this making any sense? let me try this again....
if emotion was a house normal people would have a roof and a floor, and that would be that
BP on the other hand has no roof, and no floor...
However, sometimes I can't tell the difference between manic and extremely joyful and uplifted.
The mind is complex wow
Does that make sense?
Once yr diagnosed there are different types.
Hypomania is NOT full on mania just as the depressive lows differ from one type of BP to another.
In BP1...I know what a mania is..it's too extreme to mistake for other states such as happiness or even 'euphoria' as the sane mind experiences.
People have different perspectives depending on their diagnosis.
