Boyfriend has heard me talk of the pain of this disorder, that we all feel and doesn't understand the term pain in regards to this and I can't come up with a good way to tell him what it means. Help me describe the pain that goes with bp.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
BP to me is waking up like a different person every morning, never knowing whether you are going to be Manic, depressed, or whatever.
Since I mostly get Mania not depression, it is a lump of coal in your stomach, someone standing on your chest and shoulders preventing you from breathing, clenching of teeth, extreme anxiety, hatred, fear, animosity, grandiosity, etc.
Sleepless nights, lack of concentration, racing thoughts,
Pills, bloodwork, therapy, pdoc after pdoc...
Try it! ;-)
Explain in detail how you feel to him, as if you were painting a picture.
Take him to the pdoc or to therapy with you and have him observe what you talk about.
Or have him do research no BP. I think there is a section on the DS Forum now for Families of those with BP.
Hope that helps.
