I'm sure most of you have read Kay Redfield Jamison's "Touched by Fire", but recent figures that I read showed about 40-60% of successful artists, musicians, etc. are bipolar. As opposed to 10% of the 'normal' population. That's a serious percentage increase.
One theory is that normal creative people tend to think in a non-linear way, not logical, hopping from thought to thought, which is typical of us in a hypomanic or manic period. I guess they mean a more erratic stream of consciousness? Which would allow room for off the wall genius ideas to pop in, I guess? Dunno.
What do you all think?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I know I'm a lot more creative (well, I used to be when I was younger) when I'm manic. Something about feeling freer and more expressive; less restrained by cares or concerns.
Hell, if I had any musical or artistic talent, I'd SO be set financially!:)
