Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

What books have helped you in understanding the dynamics of Bipolar Illness, for me it is almost everything written by Kay Redfield-Jamieson, which I guess are pretty much the standard.
Also The Bipolar Survival Guide by David J. Miklowitz has proven invaluable to me.

I made an earlier post about weed titled "Does weed effect us differently?". I think I may have misjudged the situation. I had a bad trip on my first try, but I ended up smoking the rest and also tried "delta 8" (basically the same a weed). I ended up having a really good experience, but now I'm worried I may like it too much. I can't decide if I should completely abstain or not.on the one hand,...

Madness: A Bipolar Life by Marya Hornbacher
Perhaps I will post a review once I have finished it.
I did however, find the Bipolar Survival Guide to be the best resource for practical management aids to be used in conjunction with meds.
Sometimes web resources can be a little flaky and biaised.
Like you, I really love to research these things as it is a form of therapy which works for me and keeps me prepared / informed. :)
I am in complete agreement with you on the flakiness of websites, a large number of the sites I have come across recommend foregoing meds or some dodgy form of vitamin treatment. This is also true for virtually any disorder actually, one can take almost any illness and you'll find a plethora of hits for 'miracle cure sites' in the top hits. The funniest is Apple Cider Vinegar being recommended for virtually everything.
If I name them I'll get all these 'i loved that' replies!
I thought The Noonday Demon by Andrew Solomon was outstanding- ok, extreme (& psychotic) depression is the subject..but that is relevant, of course & it's such an interesting book- how depression is perceived & dealt with in different cultures around the globe, among other things. It's quite devastating but rings true, I thought.
Heard about a book just published, sounds terrific..called sth like 'Leave a light on for me'? I'll have to go find review again.
