Anything is possible. I'd say the odds are 50-50 and success depends more on the people involved than on BP. But then I'm a hopeless romantic BP.

This is my opinion and we all know what opinions are. I am finding that BP relationships are more understanding than the "normal/bi-polar conventional relationships. It seems like not only are we are more understanding but also way more interesting. This is assuming that you are cycling at different levels and different times. It is all about picking the other one up and not judging them. I have been in to many "normie" relationships that have bottomed out do to ignorance and the apathy of not being willing to learn about the disease. I find the "it is all in your head" mentality to be very insulting.

Difficult one to answer definitively, but my best guess is no.

Why? ...... Well perhaps some consequences may be:

a). If both coincide at manic OR depressive stages then I need not expound further !!!

b). If either are "Out of phase" ...... ???? (One up, one down?) need I say more?

Having said that ...... NO ONE truly understands a Beeper other than another Beeper but that still may not imho be a sufficient basis for a viable relationship.

depends on the people involved, just like any other relationship. bp's might need a little more patience though.

I had a relationship with a bp woman and it didn't work. It was too much turmoil. I also had a relationship with my ex-wife and it didn't work. She was a jerk. Then there was ex-wife #2. She was a jerk too. Wait... I think I'm the jerk and the odds of a relationship working with a bp woman are not necessarily worse than with a "normal" woman... it's all about the people. I think I'm going to stop being a jerk.

When I was off meds there was no chance of a successful relationship with anyone - even myself. My sex drive/manic "I'm too sexy for my..." meant I started TONS of "relationships" without exactly finishing the last one(s). I used to say I'd gladly have my libido surgically removed if I could. with the meds I'm on - it has been chemically lessened. The freedom from a driving need for a "relationship" means I'm reconnecting with family, friends, and volunteering. Then again, I'm almost 50 and I can enjoy memory lane. I guess I'm saying if you NEED the relationship to work rather than wondering if it will, that may not be a good thing.

I don't know about with 2...but one and the other is possible, but I only know that from personal experience.
