I have been working in IT for the last 9 years, off and on. Because I miss days from work I have to always lie about why I am not at work. It is exhausting to keep thinking of lies, it takes alot of enery to remember them. The computer field is highly stressed. Sometimes I manage ok and then it comes, the depression. Other times I am bouncing off the walls. Has anyone ever told their employer about their illness and if so what was the reaction. I feel like my whole life is a lie. I was warned against telling my job by my psychiatrist. Needless to say I have had alot of jobs which is also hard to explain to some employers, thanks for listening.
