I am BBlous boyfriend i am typing on her computer at her request while she is on the phone to me.
olanzapine is now at 10mgs. her voices are easing off.
The doctor i have to see is the one that i need to complain about and he suggested an injection of something upto 20mgs at the end of the week. All of the patients have advised me against having it as has my mum. Does anybody know what it might be and whether they think i should have it?
I know i am not on a full dose of olanzapine so i am confused as to why they are not increasing that instead of suggesting a different medication
This is the doctor that i have had problems with I have asked to see another doctor that i would like your advise andd opnions because i trust you more than them.
Whoever reads this please keep bumping it because my boyfriend does know how to use it so keep it at the top.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
But I will keep her in my prayers
Sorry I can't help with the injection other than I would advise against it unless she doesn't mind an increase in weight. Most people I know who have injections usually put heaps of weight on. I had injections of halidol/haliperidol before and had a terrible reaction. They overdosed me and I had to have a couple of antidotes. I ended up with lockjaw and my head was spinning uncontrollably. I found out later that one of my friend's sisters died of an overdose of the stuff. If bblou's gut instinct is to not have it then I would go with that.
Did she go voluntary to the hospital? If not, they might enforce it. That's what happened to me.
Please tell her that I'm sending her heaps of luv'n'hugs.
They are probably suggesting a shot of haloperidol (Haldol) as that is what is usually used to get rid of voices.
Depends on how bad she wants the voices gone.
Getting the Haldol will help BUT it will be only temporary and then she has to increase the lamictal much more before symptoms ease off.
I am really concerned about her not being on a mood stabilizer and just on an antipsychotic (Lamictal).
Push to get a second opinion, another pdoc as she does not trust this one (and neither do I).
My prayers are with you and her.
She's in my thoughts & I'm sure she will be fine. I have been there a few times & it was for the best; I came out of it a changed person with a new acceptance & awareness about this disorder. She is very brave & strong! Send her love from all of us here!
I am sorry to hear that this has happened. Give her love from Hallam xxx
They didnt let her mom go in with her they took her mom seperately at the dr visit. That doesn't sound right to me.
I just hope the boyfriend can at least help get her answers.
I'm thinking of you BB! ((hugs))
