I've been getting constant panic attacks since last night, it's more like one very long one really and I'm going out of my mind. It's never been this bad before. I don't have any meds but is there anything you can suggest that will help? Over the counter sleeping tablets? Benedryl? I've heard benedryl helps with some stuff but I've never taken anything like that. I just need to calm the fuck down before I have a heart attack!
Any suggestions welcome!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
so is melatonin, but it's debatable. because it's a hormone.
but if you just take melatonin for 2 weeks at the time you want to go to bed ... supposedly yr body will "learn" to start producing melatonin at bedtime on its own after those 2 weeks.
Breath into a paper bag, slow deep breaths.
If you have a benadryl or some nyquil take some to calm you down.
I never would have thought of trying Benadryl, but maybe it IS worth a shot!!!
Twice, my exhusband had panic attacks bad enough to make him go to the ER, and they gave him Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) by IV.
And that's been my experience with it too, that it really makes you sleepy, but that you quickly build up tolerance to that effect.
By the way, diphenhydramine is the active ingredient in most allergy medicines and also in OTC sleep aids as well as being the added active ingredient in Tylenol PM, too.
That being the case, it is much cheaper to just buy it in its cheapest form, no matter what the reason you're using it. So far, the cheapest that I've found is Walmart's store brand, Equate children's allergy medication, the liquid form -- Dyphenhydramine elixir.
Benadryl is good though! And valerian and chammomile tea.
Also, essence of lavender oil, put some on your temples and wrists. Get the good stuff.
AND BREATHE!
Fazer FYI Seriously I read somewhere that nuts have some thing in them taht can calm us down... Luv to Ya.and Better Day!!!
