Like, at school. Do you tell people that your bipolar? How do they react?
Also, can people tell when your in an episode?
I think I'm most likely rapid cycling BP ( I don't have a DX as I refuse to until I'm 18- I won't budge on this, so lets just leave it at that)
As for me, the only person who knows, is me. Not my friends, my family, no one. I first figured it out when I was 13 (I'm 15, going on 16 this spring) I found out, because I had an online journal, and thought I had mult. Personalities, and someone told me I exhibited all the signs of BP, I researched it, took multiple DX questionaires, and they all point to BP. Plus I can tell when I'm in an episode.
Anyway, how do people react when you say "I'm Bipolar" and when your in a depressed, or manic episode, do people point out that you seem different?
I'm in a special program for agriculture at school, ( I want to be a vet, there are vet classes offered) and a lot of people there come from different towns, like me. So, were a pretty tight "Community" everyone knows everyone pretty well. You spend a minimum of 2/8 periods a day there. I spend 4-5 periods there!
Anyway, this year I started out super manic, and although I have had episodes of depression, they usually came later in the day, after I was done with those classes, or during the weekend. Lately, I've been depressed, and people just point it out. I can feel it coming on, and for me, its a confirmed episode when several people say I seem really sad.
One of the program teachers told me that I usually have a "happy go lucky persona" and that day I had a "sad, dark, mischievous persona" and all day people kept asking me if something is wrong. In fact, including that teacher, five or six people asked me if I was okay.
Today, I thought an episode was coming on, but after a few people told me I looked sad, I kind of figured I'm in an episode.
When your in an episode, do people notice how you feel?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
wooahhh...ah! but its all the same stuff. I don't tell anyone, but I wonder if I were to say something, to the people closest to me, if they would be shocked, or if it would be more of a "that explains a lot" sort of thing.
I have been wondering, does rapid speech only onset when your manic? Because i have 24/7 rapid speech, and I don't even realize it. Like, I have to give a speech in class, and I was practicing, being extra careful to slow down, and my teacher still said I was being a speed demon, when I was being as slow as I could muster without going "arrggh! I can't take it!!!"
:)
I know that now that im out of school, people that i meet cant tell anymore. Just talk to your psychiatrist, because it sounds like you needa higher dose of anti-depressants.
