when people ask if we have children

Am I the only one that hates when we meet someone new and we have to answers questions like: how many children do you have? Or Do you have children?
I know people ask that to start a conversation , bla, blah , blah... but I HATE IT! I find it the most akward to answer. I always end up saying something like I have had 4 children but I have lost 2 sons. The look on the persons face is sheer horror. I have to mention my boys! I just want people to know that they were MY BOYS and that I still love them and miss them.

Say what you feel! Acknowledge them. If people want to know the details, just tell them you are not comfortable talking about it. Either they understand or they don't. Huggs, Rainbow

This is hard for me too. We only had one child. If I answer, "No, we don't have children", I feel like I'm wiping away our daughter's memory. If I say, "Well, we had a daughter who has passed away", I feel I'm burdening a person who thought they were just making small talk. They didn't mean to intrude. It's a tough one. I have given both answers, by the way. I was really bothered most when I just said "No".

How about this,"4, 2 on earth and 2 in Heaven."
I lost my first child at 37 weeks gestation, but I'm still his mother. When I was pregnant with my next child and ppl asked if it was my first, the answer was always no.
I'll be honest, I don't hide or lie about it by any means, but when asked today how many children I have, I say, "I have 2." I've had 3, but I have 2. That's my choice but to each their own.

well when im asked about my grandchildren i always say i have 3 grandaughters but 2 are angels they still my deeply loved granchildren hold your head up high if they feel uncomfortable thats thier fault not yours they are you sons and proud of then you are

This is hard for me too. I say that I have 2 children Brogan and Harry and usually leave it at that. It's when they delve into "oh how old" etc... but my tears and running away usually give them a clue!

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
