As everyone knows the Holidays are just around the corner.Well this will be the first year ever that I will have both Thanksgiving and Christmas at my house. My boyfriends Mom and Stepdad go to Fl.every year for the winter/cold months. So every year we have went to my Dads house. I get to cook a turkey which I have never done before. I am a great cook, so I think I will be able to handle it. I also am going to have to try and make homemade stuffing, cause I don't know his recipe. And Christmas was/is a very special day for my family. Because we didn't always have presents or a nice dinner(one yr we had bologna sandwiches),but we were all together and that was all that mattered. This year i'm going to have to start and also pass down family traditions. Time for me to share my love of the holidays with my daughter. Like opening a present on Christmas Eve or cooking the turkey on low heat over night(dad did up until a couple of yrs ago)or you know making a mistake and messing up atleast one thing(lol). And ohhh the precious and sweet memories. I remember staying up late nights with dad the night before. Baking, cooking, stirring, tasting, testing, and most of all enjoying it with everybody you love. I remember when we were little. We lived in a trailer in Florida. It was Christmas eve and all was asleep. My dad got up ,had on a santa suit, hollowered "HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS",and out the front door he went. My brother and I jumped up and went to see. All we found were mom-n-dad in bed, presents under the tree and what my parents had said was an elf hat hangin on the tree. We really believed that santa and his elves had been there. It's precious memories that make you a believer like this that are the best ones. Only to have an imagination and believe like a child, what a wonderful gift. Thanks Dad for making me a believer. I will make the holidays special for my family , like you made them special for us.
