LOL. Mum used to get all worked up doing all kinds of cooking, baking and stuff on the holidays. Seems I have "channelled" her or something because the past few weeks I have made homemade split pea soup, lasagna, cookies, stuffed pork tenderloin. To name a few. Today I am going to make some candy (she didn't do that but boy she baked the best cookies), and start decorating. The holidays are hard, I am getting teary right now as I type this. I remember how I'd wish I were somewhere else when her friends were over, now? I wish I'd spent more time learning how she made things; her recipes that I kept I will start making like she did. Funny how that works isn't it? I miss her this year more than before, and it's been 3 years now. You should have heard me last night, I lost her brandy ball recipe and I was yelling at her (I have her ashed in an urn outside our bedroom door). My husband just laughed, saying maybe she hid the card. Just wanted to share.
