So today marked a year. And surprisingly, I made it through pretty well. I started my day by logging in here at DS, and checked in around lunchtime to find what I had expected - so much love and caring from the wonderful people here!! It really started my day off right and made all the difference to know you were all getting through the day alongside me. I just can't thank you enough.
I was quite busy at work all day, which was really good. I didn't have time to feel sorry for myself. After work, my husband and I took our two children to a fundraiser for a young boy in our community who was seriously injuried in an accident. We felt that it would truly honor Madison on the anniversary of her death to help another family struggling with tragedy. So many people were there... it was nice, and we walked away with warmth in our hearts.
The day's not over, but I plan on having my tea and sitting in front of my wood stove for a while, remembering my sweet girl fondly.
All your love and caring has made all the difference today, friends. I just can't thank you enough. I would have been far worse off without you.
LESSONS: For any of you who face an anniversary in the future, resolve the night before to do something uplifting and positive, immediately upon getting out of bed. Go outside and enjoy the weather (even if it's raining). Login here at DS, and feel the love of your friends, stay busy, and have some tea at the end of the day, while reminiscing fondly of your loved one...
and you will survive... Here I am actually smiling while I write this. Much love to you all, you dear people.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
You are an amazing woman, your Maddy would be so proud of her mommy...to set aside your own grief to help out another family going through hell....I take a bow to you, what a SPECIAL person you are!
I know that even through your beautiful smile, that you hurt, so I just want to say that I love you and admire you and your faith! Which by the way, with your help, my friend and I together are slowly getting through the bible together....admittingly, I still have my bouts of anger and doubts...so many questions and the answers don't seem to fit....but I have not given up, and won't.
Sending you a band aid hug via the internet to help heal your wound....one day at a time. Lots of love and hugs for you and your family! Kat
