A bit of a change from how I felt last night but today was a holy day of obligation for me. It's All Saints Day, and we have to go to Mass. I got a surprise on Sunday when I read the Church bulletin listing Mom's name for one of the Masses today. It takes awhile to get on calendar since there's so many people wanting Masses = plus I'd didn't think they said Masses for the deceased on holydays but guess I was wrong.
It's eight weeks tonight that Mom passed. Needless to say, I made it my business to attend tonight. It was beautiful. A High Mass. For those who don't know what this is - it's longer, sung, with a beautiful choir. This was even attended by 7 altar boys. And the Mass was being said for my Mom, may she rest in peace.
All Saints Day...Mom would have been thrilled by the significance and how beautiful it all was.
Thanks, God.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It seems to be a new tradition here, too. Alot of parishes are doing Nights of Remembrance. I'm comparing it to the Jewish Tradition of praying for all the deceased of the past year on Yom Kippur. I left Mom's name in a book where I had been attending grief counseling but not sure if I will go. I think if the funeral was held there, they will light a candle. Another Church rings a bell for each name. Very touching, I understand.
