I think Verna posted a great topic.... and I was wondering what people have played. I know her question was specific to her situation so I thought I'd open it up. I know I had a hard time deciding what to play at Mom's.
We played Elvis' gospel CD during the viewing and during the service, the first song was Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up- absolutely stunning; I cried my eyes out. Then we ended with Elvis singing Amazing Grace. It was beautiful.
It IS hard to choose music to fit. Let's share some more.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

But the two hymns I'd wanted were a hymn to the Blessed Mother, "Mother, at Thy Feet is Kneeling" (Mom loved that one); and the Italian song "Mama", which I'd planned to sing at gravesite (unbeknownst to anyone). I never got to sing either.
at my FIL's funeral, the director said the most popular are the Josh Groban songs right now. I had already requested this to my MIL then she asked at the mortuary what was popular.
