While I am thankful that the paralysis of my mouth is improving daily, my eye (thankfully only one eye effected) is getting worse daily--or perhaps it has reached its peak of nastiness. At any rate, one eye is stuck OPEN! I cannot close it AT ALL! I have been to two opthomologists and they say that I am doing a good job keeping the eye well-lubricated with ointment and that there is nothing more I can do for now--and the prognosis for improvement is, essentially, "who knows?" I was told suturing the eye shut was not medically warranted and may not even add comfort. Not wanting to look or feel like Frankenstein I was not eager to do it anyway. Patches don't help because I feel my eye lid trying to flutter against it. Doctors say that if it doesn't make me more comfortable they are pointless--provided of course I keep up with the ointment and avoid wind and bright light. I can't very well stay in a dark room 24 hours a day for as long as this is going to last--could be 6 to 12 weeks I hear (please NO!). I am at my wits-end with frustration. Has anyone used any special kind of eye wear or mositurizer or SOMETHING that has helped them through a similar situation? Also, I wear glasses, so whatever it is, it must work in conjunction with glasses. Thanks! :)

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
