I'm currently in physical therapy for back pain (no structural damage), but progression has proven difficult because my core is weak. I'm supposed to do pelvic tilts, but am in a bind. If I try the tilts with my knees slightly bent, I want to push with my feet to make sure my back is flat against the surface I'm laying on. My therapist recommended bringing my knees toward my stomach while working my abdominal muscles. The problem here is I can feel tugging-like discomfort in my lower back because of my weak core. Any suggestions to strengthening my core?
