Is anyone else out there having difficulty because they are unable to work, have applied for disability and are waiting for the government to get their s--t together? I stopped working in June of 2006 because of chronic pain. I've been denied twice by SS, which my attorney said is pretty standard. My next step is a hearing before a judge, which will not be for about another year because of the backload. I've been paying into the system for over 29 years and now that I need help, I'm screwed.
