I have had scoliosis for over 15 years now, with chronic pain from it in the past nine years. I have tried everything but narcotic meds. When I sit my ribs on the right side crush into my hip bone (happens when driving, or anything sitting). I am having surgery next month for this (a spinal fusion for T3-L1). Can anyone tell me what kind of pain to expect from this surgery? I have been in pain so long I am at my last resort with this surgery, and I dont know what it is like NOT to be in pain. Any recommendations on how to handle pan if you have docs that dont prescribe anything to help you? Or should I seek a third opinion?
