Hello, I suffer from muscle cramps in my lower back just near each side of lower spine for years, as if someones fist are pressing into my lower back, while walking, or standing. At time's causing the sciatic nerve to flare up and I'm in bed for a week or two. Nothing shows up on ex-rays or MRI, family doctor just but me on a daily muscle relaxer Naproxen, that is helping to a degree. My question; Some of you mention a medication name Soma? Is this muscle relaxer over the counter, and is it stronger then Naproxen? Thank You!

Good morning all,It's just 9:30 here and I'm worn out, so I'm slowing down for a bit. One load of laundry left to fold then the whole packing routine and car loading. The rain has stopped for now and I've enjoyed the birds and little creatures from the screened in porch. A cardinal, a robin, some little finches and chipmunks. I'm so sad and angry about yesterday's event. My heart goes out to...

there are other muscle relaxers out there but I had adverse reactions to all of them but I will give you there names any way Skelaxin is very expensive and fairly new it didn't work at all for me and caused severe migraines that lasted for a week after I went off of it.
Robaxin is in the same class but more sedating It also caused a severe headache after a few days of being on it but it worked great on the muscle spasms occationally I still end up on it from time to time for a day or two just until the headache starts but sometimes this is worth it just to get my back to relax from massive spasms.
Soma is a muscle relaxer and it has been a very long time since I took it techniqually it is only suppose to be taken for short term use it is also available with codiene which is a narcotic based pain reliever.
I make a homemade muscle rub that works really well I do not have the recipe in front of me now but I have posted it be for and it is on the internet it has ginger, mustard, cayanee pepper If you want it message me
best of luck to you.
