Minimal Bulging annulus seen at L2-3 with a right lateral bulging annulus at L2-3 with slight canal narrowing at L2-3 and mild inferior forminal narrowingon the right at L2-3. It goes on to say that I have this all the way to L5-S1. There is mild disc degeneration and mild disc space narrowing on L2-3. What does all this mean in laymans terms. I figure someone on this site would know something. Also, I had a nerve conduction test and it shows mild changes suggesting L5 root irritablity. There is minimal slowing in bilateral lower extremity to suggest axonal polyneuropathy. What does this all mean?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I don't know what annulus means but you could go to webmd.com and look it up. L = Lumbar = low back and S = Sacral= very low, down to tail bone. Didn't your Dr. go over this with you? You should call and ask for a visit to sit down with either the dr or his/her nurse to explain it all. Until then all I can suggest is look it up on webmd because I can't be sure of what it says here. It all sounds similar, though not as severe, to what I have. I have degenerative disk disease, spinal stenosis (narrowing of spine), and neuropathy --- (with a bunch of other stuff that doesn't sound like yours).
I know how confussing all this medical talk can be, but you need to talk this over with your doctor, if they will not explain it in a way that you can understand, find another doctor, go on the medical sites read all about the terminology, thats what i did, write down your questions & concerns, and when you go back to the doctor, ask your questions, tell them your concerns etc
I wish you all the best, i am sorry i can't explain it to your, but a lot of those words were in my many reports before my operation, that is not to say that your injury was or is the same as mine, and that you would need a spinal fussion like me.
