I've been in severe pain with my lower back for at least 2-3 years now and found out several months ago what was causing the pain. Since then, I've been on pain meds, narcotics and ibuprofen, taken physical therapy, use a TENS unit, and have had 3 epidural cortisone injections. Once a month since July. I guess they are supposed to last 3 months, but I had to have one a month, and after the 3rd one, the doctor said he didn't think there was anything more he could do for me, so today I am seeing my Orthopod who specializes in spinal surgery. I am scared about whether I will be in a full body cast or a brace and if I will have to go to a nursing home because I can't stand the thought of being away from my home. I also have severe depression, panic attacks, and agoraphobia, so that's why I say I can't go to a nursing home-not to mention the cost! Has anyone gone through the surgery and can you tell me what your experience was. I'd love to hear from everyone. Thanks so much!! Kathy
