Back Pain Support Group
Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical care. In fact, about 3 in 4 adults will experience back pain during their lifetime! The term back pain includes pain affecting the neck, midback and low back. Acute back pain may begin suddenly with intense pain but typically lasts fewer than three months. Usually, chronic back pain is persistent, steady, and...
Injections of any kind carry risk, but a myelogram and discogram should only be used when absolutely necessary. Ask anyone with arachnoiditus.
When you said "hardware" I thought you meant "spinal hardware" (rods, screws, cages, etc) were getting in the way of the needle so I was wondering why you would need a myelogram >after< surgery.
Okay, so you haven't any back surgery before, correct?
Back about 4 years ago, one doctor did take a few xrays of my back, first with me standing straight and then with bending forward. They found a low grade of spondylilothesis of my L3 (fusion is from L4-S1). I question this often and I usually get "they didn't know I had this condition". Irritates me because its on my paperwork I filled out for them. Yet no one seems to have any concerns of this when I ask. I just wonder if this has maybe gotten worse and why the pain never seems to improve. I've been living with and dealing with chronic pain since my 1st surgery of Laminectomy of L4 and have tried about everything imaginable for treating, leaving me feeling hopeless.
Often our records are left unrecognized, and our pain ect taken for granted.
We are one of the highest medical problems for miscarriage of information,
accidents, inappropriate techniques,ect.,
Hang on and keep yourself informed, as doctors are primarily concerned with their paychecks (Not All)
AKA-morphed (fusion-abbussion)
How are you honestly feeling about these surgeons/docs you're dealing with?
So you have broken hardware in your back as we speak?
I really wish you could get over to Dallas or somewhere other than where you had your last surgery done there in Louisiana. Good Lord, I hope you're ok with that broken hardware just dangling back there. Be very very careful.
Hugs & God bless
