Ok, I have had some bad lower back pain from an mistake during a spinal tap, but yesterday I cracked a rib (second one down, right side, in the back, about 2 in from my spine) and it hurts a lot. And I remember a lot of pain after the spinal tap mess (I had to lay flat for a week), but I think this might hurt more. I can't sleep; even breathing hurts.Admittedly I also pulled many muscles.. But the instructions I got from Kaiser (the docs) are really impractical. And they told me this is going to hurt for weeks. Has anyone else ever delt with a cracked rib? Will it really be weeks? Suggestions?

I'm not sure if you're the person I replied to way back about a cracked rib, but my view remains the same. It hurts like hell, there is nothing you can do but let it heal and It will get better. Avoid comedians for a few weeks. It really does hurt when you laugh!

Broken ribs do hurt for weeks, and it is hard to move. There is not much to be done for it except pain meds and pt.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
