I have a herniated disc at L4-5, 4 herniated discs in my neck-at C 3-4, C4-5, C5-6 and C6-7. Two of them are impinging my cervical cord. This causes pain in my shoulders, down my arms and into my hands. I also have DDD and spinal stenosis. I have no insurance so I go to the Veterans Hospital for health care and they do everything so slowly. I'm in severe pain every day. Saw one of the neurologists and they do not think I have significant cernical compression - damn it feels pretty signficant to me. Anyway, they want to do steriod injections in my neck. They will only give you a local anesthetic so I don't know how painful it will be and also I have heard some scary things about side effects. If you've had this done, let me know how it turned out for you. Thanks.
