I didn't see his Autistic traits until yesterday when his dad was yelling at him that he didn't have time to dry off his animals after his bath. He started melting, my husband was yelling, and lights started going off in my head. I don't know how I didn't see it before. He wasn't as easy to pick up as my older son. My youngest mainly has issues with his routine/ritual, if he doesn't do the same way everyday, he starts to meltdown. I'm so glad I finally noticed it so I will know how to work with him and how to have his dad work with him. No more yelling dad, not that it was ever a good idea for any kid. But for Joe, forget it! Sing directions to him dad. Explain what we are doing next and the steps, allow him to carry those two items around in the car and store, develop picture schedules for the whole family. Yeah! Life is going to be a lot happier around here!

If you're 18 or older, have experience with exposure therapy or want to, and...
