Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.

i was wondering what to do when a child the age of your child or younger is trying to talk to your son and of course my son cayden is verbal but not in sentences, he is able to ask for things by name, (not always clear, but i understand) point to things he wants and show me. usually when this happens i just look at the other child and say he doesn't talk real good and they usually go on there way or stare for a minute. just wondering if that is good enough to say to a child when they ask if he is ok, because some of them will make such a point to look in his eyes (i mean even if he is looking down they will bend down to make that eye contact) and talk to him and he kind of just looks through them (he does have social issues), and i am not saying it is a bad thing because it is so cute that they try, should i ignore it, or keep letting them know he doesn't talk real well??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

PS: or maybe just the first part and leave out the Autism, but either one.
