I'm not sure what high functioning means. High functioning verses what...low functioning? How would you know if your child is high functioning or not? My son doesn't talk much, is not potty trained, can't identify numbers, letter, or animals when prompted. When reading books (which he very rarely lets me do) I try to get him to point at a specific number or letter to see if he knows it and he won't do it. So I have no idea how much he knows. If someone could please enlighten me on what "high functioning" means that would be great.
