What holiday foods will your children eat

Just wondering if you guys go through the same thing I do. Its the holiday season and the only thing my son will eat is dianosaur chicken nuggets. Does anybody have children that try new foods? If so do you have any advise?

are you kidding? In our house, 'trying new foods' means a different brand of garlic bread and fish sticks!

My son is also very resistent to trying anything new. I made a deal with him that he had to try something new every week. I tried at first with every day, but the melt downs were too great. Once a week is working out fine.

potato if it is cut or cooked crispy to resemble fries. Chicken or turkey only if dark meat and moist and only plain and served with ketchup or sweet BBQ sauce. Infact all meals MUST be served with ketchup or "no dice"! Veges? In my dreams! Loves bread and butter. Fruit. Chocolate, chips, popcorn, (those are all food groups right? Ha!)

Thankfully, my Noah is not a picky eater. He will try almost anything once. My problem is the gathering that takes place at dinners. Noah gets overwhelmed even at Sunday meals, when all of our family sits down to eat. This is probably because he gets overly stimulated. I don't see Thanksgiving as too much of a problem this year, however, because Noah's birthday falls on this holiday this year!

The only holiday foods my kids will eat are Christmas cookies - LOL. Thats the truth. It is always the same things, chicken nuggets, french fries, broccoli, carrots, oranges, banannas, hot dogs, pizza, chips, popcorn, pretzels thats the diet for them both. Well, I guess it makes the shopping a lot easier right? Happy Thanksgiving. Denise

lia very rarely tries new foods but weve found that she will try something if we tell her its her favourite characters from whichever is her latest obsessive dvd, sometimes it works! arranging food to look like her latest obsession sometimes works too. But she will never eat any food that has touched anything else on the plate, so when it comes to mince and mash potato it has to be served on seperate plates! and she only started eating this because she thinks its the daleks favourite food !

Anybody else get the feeling 'nutritional guidelines' are a load of cr**? These kids are remarkably strong and healthy considering what they eat!

I guess my daughter must be a higher functioning autistic child(aspergers) because she will eat most anything...loves the holiday food, looking forward to turkey, stuffing, pie the works...the only problem we have at mealtime is getting her to drink something with her meals...sometimes she would rather choke...always have to remind her to take a sip of water, juice, tea whatever...

wow My Son Brian will not eat any veggies, or Cranberry Sauce so like most of you i will be serving Chicken Nuggets with a side of Fries....

Oh, one thing I did find at whole foods if you are doing the gluten free diet: I found already made frozen pie crusts. I am going to make an apple filling and put it in. Just wanted to pass along. Denise

Have you tried the same texture food with any other meats. He likes it dino nuggets style,so get cookie cutters if you can find them the same size. Take a peice of turkey that is reasonable for you to work with, put the same type of texture on it, bake it up. See if that works, also have you tried the V8 juices? They work wonders on the " vegie and fruit" fake out as we call it here. Try the theory with the nuggets. Let us know what happens.

oh yeah forgot! DS will actually eat pumpkin pie! I started with tons of whipped creme and now he'll eat it plain! That's a vegetable right?!

My son is real picky and observes his food before he eats it. He wont eat anything in combination only milk with cereal. He strictly eats one dish with nothing else with it.he doesnt even like icecream or cones. He likes popcycles more than anything though.I will try some of these things.Im glad I actually have people to turn to for advise!

I had to laugh reading everyone's responses. I have one child on the spectrum and one child who is not and let me tell you - it will be chicken nuggets on Thanksgiving for both of them :)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
