Okay- this is going to sound stupid, but this is sort of an informal opinion poll. My 10 year DD is HFA/ASD. She functions pretty well the majority of the time- but for some reason the Walmart causes a meltdown almost every time we go. KMart, Target, Kroger...all okay. But the Walmart will cause it 9/10 times. I try not to take her there if I don't have to, because she ends up with the major public meltdown, sobbing and clinging to me through the store into the checkout line. I mentioned this to her new therapist at the autism clinic. She said she had "a lot" of kids that specifically had meltdowns at the Walmart. Something about the lighting she said. Anyone else have a case of Walmart meltdowns?
