Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.
The best thing an autistic person can say.

There is one thing that everybody on the spectrum should be able to say. That one thing is, "I'm autistic! What's your excuse?" I benefit from saying that, every time. There are a lot of people who don't understand why a person with autism stims, carries a comfort object around, or is clearly wearing a diaper under their trousers, at any age, which the last two ring true for me. Somebody at my Mental Health clubhouse was giving me flack for carrying my little Sid figurine around the clubhouse. (The character who's in my avatar). He asked me, "Aren't you a little old for that?" I gave him a cold glare, and I've shouted, "I'm autistic! What's your excuse?" He was on the verge of tears, when one of his macho guy friends asked him, how he was doing. The reason was because, he didn't expect me to be that blunt and forceful with him. This is the reason that I actually like having an autism label and being on the spectrum. I can say something like that to an ignorant person, and I still carry Sid around, with my Cockney Pride. :O)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
NO FEAR NO LIMITS NO SHAME NO GUILT
But I think he does sometimes with his vocal stims.
The other day... we were in a shoe store , Stevens lovin it! Running up and down the isles. hardly anyone was there this man looked and looked at Steven . Steven was being verbal w. his stims. I said Firmly... "Autism"
The man said.. "Ahhhhhhh"
and I said.. "yeah,,,,"
and steven went right on with his talk! He got 2 new pairs of shoes that day :)
