My 5 year old son is going to start Kindergarten in 3 weeks. He has never been to school or any environment like that. He's never been away from me at all. I don't know how he'll react when I put him on the bus and the bus pulls off without me getting on it. How can I help him understand that he will be back? He is just beginning to "talk"so I'm really worried. He had early intervention but the district where we lived in NY was one horror story after another, autistic child was left on the bus, autistic child was abused at school. I decided not to send him for those reasons and I think I've done more harm than good. We now live in Concord, NC. I've heard the schools here are really good but I'm still worried about him. Any suggestions to ease him into the routine f going to school?
