Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.

My son had a doctors appointment at MHMRA this afternoon, I went to the dollar store and bought him a cheap headphone radio, he was soooooo...... good ! all the way there and it's a long drive, even I get antsy! So I'm driving and he's just a singing!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't help but giggle! When we got into the doctors office, uh....... he actually talked his little head off ??????? UNUSUAL ! But WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!1 So, Alex tells her about the B/S in the class with the paraproffessional, uh.......totally on his own??? And then about "Reading 180 Program" , then he starte telling her how the program gives letters and how he made the word FOX! Do ya'll realise that my child has never been able to do this before? Oh, I am so proud! This program, his teacher and I just fought so hard to get the program in his class! I am so happy tonight, and have hope for his future! I just can't believe it!!!!!!! Oh, and he was an angel on the way home! Even took his bath early! Med's, had dinner, and went to bed! WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I looked it up and watched the demos it is very cool! I would have liked to see how it would work for steven because what i saw was too advanced and they spoke too fast. But! They did say it is made for each individuals needs. so that means it could work for steven.
thank you for sharing!
level right now, and he's in the 7th grade, so I only wish that this program had been aviable throughout his educational years! Now it's like playing catch up! But each book is a different level and yes each is taloried made, the good thing is one book and cd can be used for many kids, yet modified to each ones needs!!! Alex's teacher has a boook , computer, headset, CD, for each child, she is big on them having their on stuff, clean freak, and refuses cross contamination! But yeah, she can and will reuse it if she needs too, after it's been sterilized, like a new baby's bottles! He will also continue to have this in high school! Oh wouldn't it be GREAT if Alex Graduated being able to read!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!
