My 8 yr old daughter has had sleeping problems for a long time, way before she was diagnosed. I never understood why she didnt want to go to sleep. Now I understand why. The hard part is helping her. I have tried the calming bath and relaxing potion in the water. Also the soothing music. Sitting with her and laying my hand on her(she cant stand being gently stroked)A net around her bed. A sheet (like a tee-pee)around the bed. Underneath the bed. Sleeping in my bed, on the lounge, making a bed beside me on the floor... nothing seems to work. The only other thing the doctor suggested was phenergan which is a anti histimine kind of thing and its not to be used more than once a week. I was reading the advice and there was a reference to MELATONIN. I was wondering if this is available in Australia? And if so, who would have it and what would I ask for? Mornings are never a pleasure except for school holidays when I let her stay up and then sleep in but it puts her body clock out of whack but it gets hard to keep going and sometimes I think we all need the break!
