Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.
ya keep him in school and they teach him.
Your child is a litte young to have an "attitude problem"
he has autism.
I can relate to how u feel, because my husband was not on board at the time.
I just focused and helped my son dispite anything his own dad or any one said.
He needs to be in school to learn.
Good Luck
I hope he is in a eairly intervention class??
I personally pulled my two autistic kids out of school and (this is my own personal experience, I'm not saying do this) they are thriving...emotionally, academically and socially.
I will never regret my decision.
Is he in an autistic self-contained class room? Is the work too complex for him to understand the steps?
I'd conference with teacher and get to the bottom of this, you know your son best. Get some ideas of things you do at home when he gets upset to calm him that they may be able to try at school.
I'm sorry you don't have the support from your husband, he's probably in denial. Education is needed there.
Best wishes,

It did a great deal in helping my husband to understand that Kristopher truly has a problem.
We still struggle with the fact that hubby has little to no patience when Kris is being argumentative or does NOT respond to requests or orders. But, he is learning and is alot more understanding than he was initially when he was most definitely IN DENIAL!!!
I could NOT sit in denial!!! I had a child to help!!!
Well, anyway, that's what we've done and I also had my husband at home when we used to go through the in home behavior folks came so that he could see what they were doing with Kristopher. Just hearing somebody BESIDES ME say that Kris does this or that because . . . and that it's typical behavior for kids on the spectrum made it more believeable than when Dr. Mom said it.
Just for what it's worth!!!
