Hi, I am a grandmother of an 8 year old little boy named Alex. We got full custody of Alex a little over a year ago. His diagnosis at first was pdd-nos and then changed to autism last January. He is in a MH classroom. He stimm's alot. He can read very well, but does not comprehend what he reads. We just got a puppy over the weekend for him. He has no children to play with except at school. We thought a dog would be good therapy for him and give him something else to focus on instead of his stimming. Any suggestions?
