My daughter is almost 5, next week, and she has HFA. She has some issues with not focusing and has a hard time waiting, etc. but no stimming really, some probs socializing w peers but I think that is due to lack of speech more than anything. She is very loving and makes good connections with eye contact, etc. She signs, uses a AAC talker and can say a few "words" - mama, dada, baby, bye bye, book. She can sound out words when reading books and can make all of the sounds of the letters except a couple. She has been in speech therapy at least 2x week for 3 years. Currently 4x week. Her therapists have always said it is more like she is apraxic than anything else. She tries hard to talk, she wants to communicate and her receptive language is great. Anyone else have a child this old not talking? Any thoughts? Advice? I'm not sure what to do now. I have read some posts about Rx helping improve speech but I don't know anything about them. She is currently on GFCF Diet, taking ThreeLac to reduce yeast(just started), ASD multi, Calcium, Magnesium, Probiotics and Enzymes, B12 shots, B6, and Omegas. What should I do now? Will she ever talk?
