Had a speech eval and was given a string of hope that little Marky was just speech delayed a bit. She said he interacted normaly good eye contact with me .... he looked at my mouth and eyes when i was doing and showing him things. He babbled as if he was talking to me, giving me cues with eyes ,babble and body language/ gestures. She said he is sooooooo close to talking and gave me some excersises to work with. I thought wow!!!!wow!!! All this worrying for nothing!!!...Then week later behavior therapist came to do her eval. She seemed a little full of herself but nice. She brought a # of toys to test his motor skills. HE did really well followed direction exactly... But she said his eye contact with her was a red flag as well as completing a task given and not looking at me or her for praise with oowii goooeey eyes?. She said "he knows were here but he seems to be in his own world"? I DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING. He played well given a stranger was bombarding him with questions toys and tasks an hour after waking up.. She said EI services would probably recommend 3,4 or more days a week ot. and ST recommended 2 days a week. She said to young to diagnos at 20 months.... How accurate are these professionals? I am going to take this as an early diagnosis.

I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
