Autism / Autism Spectrum Support Group
Autism is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder which manifests itself in markedly abnormal social interaction, communication ability, patterns of interests, and patterns of behavior. Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.

Hi! This is my first time writing and am very thankful to have found this site. I have a 5 year old autistic son, a 1 year old daughter, and a 14 year old stepson (whose mother is schizophrenic and no longer in the picture - Dad has full custody). So you could imagine how difficult it is for me to juggle all of them - with all of their individual needs. It isn't so bad with 1 or even 2 of them - but you add all of them together and it is a nightmare - along with a husband who almost seems asperger's himself.
I need so much emotional support - because I certainly don't get much. I could use any support out there I could get. Thank you.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
This site is my lifeline with so many wonderful people. Welcome!!
I hope you get the emotional support you need. As for my husband and I, we do look to the Lord to get his through the most difficult of times.
Just had to call the school today because Kristopher is still being bullied in 7th grade. : (
I told them I want a stop put to it NOW and that I'm not making him change classes this time around since he did that in 5th grade with the same bully (who Kristopher describes as a pip-squeak, LOL!)
I am so tired of it all and I really wish I could just step out of it all and forget it. I do suffer from depression because of this at times and when I do, my way is to pray about it and then go to bed, cover up my head and sleep the day away for awhile. : (

This site is an amazing source of support for mr. I've learned so much from the info that's shared and I've been touched to the point of tears by the honesty and openness in so many posts. You've found a great place here and I feel like we're all friends who just haven't met yet.
Hugs...
