I have had a few people ask me about this, ABA is not included but, the autism society told me that the federal government amended a law on Jan.12, 2007 that says health insurance must pay for ot,spt, and pt for autistic children until they are 12 IF they pay for those services for any other nuerological disorder or problem and the autism society is now pushing to raise the age limit to 18 yrs old. YAY! so for instance, if your insurance will pay for therapy for someone that has had a stroke (or anything neurological) then they are obligated by law to pay for therapy for autistic childrens therapy, most insurances will pay for an average of 100 days of therapy for most things as long as it is dr ordered and the initial evaluation indicates that the therapy is needed.( i learned that from when my mother had a massive stroke)
Hope it helps
