My 8 1/2 year old has moderate autism. He prefers to spend most of his free time watching dvds and recorded programs on our dvr. He will often wake up as early as 4:30 in the morning and want us to put a recording on for him. When it is over, we will return and ask for us to start another program. This makes for many tired days for us as we have two other children, one of who is 2 years old and has decided to start giving up his naps. We want to start occupying him in some other independent activities, but we are having problems finding anything that keeps him happy for any length of time. Does anyone have any advice?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
