So, I have an iep revision meeting this afternoon because of Noah's increased aggression at school and sudden toileting problems. Concerning the first, he has a doc appointment for a med evalutation, so not too worried about it. But, concerning the second, he is having horrible bowel issues at school. It is so bad that they have, with my permission, been putting pull-ups on him while he is there. They think he is doing this because the schoolwork is too hard for him, I think he is doing this because someone gave him a little attention about an accident, and he wants more attention. Plus, he has always had an aversion for strange toilets. Well, last Thursday and Friday, he actually removed the pull-ups and dumped feces on the classroon floor! And, his teacher aide sent me a note home suggesting that he might start wearing a belt or overalls to help curb this problem! Thankfully, I do have a parent mentor that is going with me to this meeting. And, this morning she made a good point. She said he must be unattented for a long period of time to be able to remove his clothes and his pull-ups! This makes me so mad because there are only six kids in the class, and one teacher, and two aides. And, since I am always told how he is the lowest-functioning in the group, then how come everyone is so busy and not paying attention to what he is doing? Anywho, if any of you have gone through somethign like this and have advice, I would deeply apreciate it.Thanks!
