Although the specific etiology of autism is unknown, many researchers suspect that autism results from genetically mediated vulnerabilities to environmental triggers.
Help for adult with autism melting down--fit

My 2O year old daughter got up this morning wanting to use the phone. I told her to take her seizure medication first, and wait till I got off the internet (I had about 10 minuts of homework left).
The fit started, she yelled, screamed, threw things, slammed door, told me to screw off, flipped me off, told me everyone, esp me, hates her and on and on and on.
She is still angry and upset though the violence has stopped. I have no idea what to do.
I am really scared cause on the of the lies she said while she was having her fit is that she still has bruises from me. I HAVE NEVER HURT HER. She does has a lot of bruises though from the last grandmal on a hard wood floor.
I have done two things: 1) made her an appointment with her old therapist 2) put her back on her seraqual (it helps her behavior, but increases seizzures. Doctor told me there is no way to have both perfectly.

might want to find a new dr that can handle all of this, seems like there should be a way to have both, not sure, other ppl might have the answer to that. as for the fits and bruises, dont let it get to you, she was upset and its documented she has seizures. as an adult it must be hard to handle, do you have a plan for when she gets like that? one that you can go over with her when she is calm and she understands, like when she is upset she is to go to her room and try to calm herself, i dont know, whatever works. sorry i wasnt much help but wanted you to know we care and i am sure you will get good advice as soon as everyone gets off the "island" and sees your post!

Yeah well as adult Aspie with teenage Aspie son I kinda get it. I am on Seroqual and Cymbalta mainly as am also BPI. My doc suggested epileptic meds but I was less happy. Had few fits when younger but passed son only had one. Hope it gets better.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
